The Fall of Duryodhana and the Contest of Restraint
सृत्या वज्चयतो राजन पुनरेवोत्पतिष्यत: । ऊरुभ्यां प्राहिणोद् राजन् गदां वेगेन पाण्डव:
sṛtyā vañcayato rājan punar evotpatīṣyataḥ | ūrubhyāṁ prāhiṇod rājan gadāṁ vegena pāṇḍavaḥ ||
قال فايُو: «أيها الملك، إذ كان يحاول الخداع بمناورةٍ مُموِّهة وكان على وشك أن يثب من جديد، قذف الباندَفيُّ، بقوةٍ عظيمة، هراوته نحو فخذيه». وفي أخلاق المبارزة الفردية القاسية، تمثّل هذه اللحظة منعطفًا حاسمًا: فقد قرأ بهيما حيلة دوريوذانا في المراوغة، فردّ بضربةٍ مقصودةٍ طاغية ستُنهي النزال، وإن أثارت تساؤلاتٍ عن مشروعية التصويب إلى ما دون الخصر.
