Vṛddha-kanyā-carita and Balarāma’s Kurukṣetra Inquiry (वृद्धकन्या-चरितम् / कुरुक्षेत्रफल-प्रश्नः)
प्रजापतिसुतेनाथ भूगुणा लोकभावन: । अतिकाय: स तेजस्वी लोकसारो विनिर्मित:
vaiśampāyana uvāca |
prajāpatisutena atha bhṛguṇā lokabhāvanaḥ |
atikāyaḥ sa tejasvī lokasāro vinirmitaḥ ||
قال فايشَمبايانا: ثم إن الحكيم بْهْرِغو، ابن براجابَتي، أوجد دَذِيتشا—محسنَ العوالم—عظيم القامة، متألق القدرة. بدا كأنه صيغ من لبّ الكون، مولودًا من قوة الزهد الشديدة لخير الجميع.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical ideal that great spiritual power (tejas) and extraordinary birth are meant for lokahita—benefit of the world. Ascetic attainment is portrayed not as self-display but as a creative, protective force aligned with cosmic welfare.
Vaiśampāyana describes the origin and extraordinary nature of the sage Dadhīca: Bhṛgu, identified as Prajāpati’s son, brings him forth as a vast and radiant being, seemingly made from the very essence of the universe, emphasizing his destined role as a world-benefactor.
