शल्यपरिघातः (Śalya Under Encirclement) — Mahābhārata, Śalya-parva, Adhyāya 12
अभ्यद्रवन् महाराज दुर्योधनपुरोगमा: । महाराज! दुर्योधन आदि कौरववीर दोनों हाथ और शस्त्र उठाकर महान् कोलाहल एवं सिंहनाद करते हुए शत्रुओंपर टूट पड़े
abhyadravan mahārāja duryodhana-purogamāḥ |
قال سنجيا: «أيها الملك، إن أبطال الكورافا، يتقدّمهم دوريودhana، اندفعوا إلى الأمام. رفعوا الأذرع والأسلحة، ثم انقضّوا على العدوّ في جلبة عظيمة وزئيرٍ كزئير الأسد—صورةٌ لاندفاع الحرب العنيف، حيث يدفع الكبرياء وحميّةُ الفروسية الرجالَ إلى التهوّر في العنف.»
