Chapter 5: Dāruka’s Mission, Balarāma’s Yogic Departure, and Kṛṣṇa’s Niṣkramaṇa
ततोडर्जुनस्तानामन्त्रय केशवस्य प्रिय: सखा । प्रययौ मातुल द्रष्ट नेदमस्तीति चाब्रवीत्,तत्पश्चात् श्रीकृष्णके प्रिय सखा अर्जुन अपने भाइयोंसे पूछकर मामासे मिलनेके लिये चल दिये और बोले--'ऐसा नहीं हुआ होगा (समस्त यदुवंशियोंका एक साथ विनाश असम्भव है)”
tato ’rjunas tān āmantrya keśavasya priyaḥ sakhā | prayayau mātulaṃ draṣṭuṃ nedam astīti cābravīt ||
ثم إن أرجونا، صديق كيشافا الحبيب، استأذنهم وانطلق ليلقى خاله. وعند رحيله قال: «لا يمكن أن يكون هذا»، إذ أبى في بادئ الأمر أن يصدق أنّ سلالة اليادو قد تفنى جملةً واحدة.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even the steadfast can recoil from accepting sudden, total loss; the verse highlights the ethical and emotional truth that attachment and loyalty initially resist the reality of impermanence and fate.
Arjuna, described as Kṛṣṇa’s dear friend, bids farewell to those with him and goes to meet his maternal uncle, while expressing disbelief that the reported annihilation of the Yadus could truly have occurred.
