Droṇa-parva Adhyāya 94: Sātyaki–Sudarśana Yuddha (सात्यकि–सुदर्शन युद्ध)
न चाकरोत् स ठठद्दाक्यं प्राप्ते काले श्रुतायुध: । स तया वीरघातिन्या जनार्दनमताडयत्,परंतु काल आ जानेपर श्रुतायुधने वरुणदेवके उक्त आदेशका पालन नहीं किया। उन्होंने उस वीरघातिनी गदाके द्वारा भगवान् श्रीकृष्णको चोट पहुँचायी
na cākarot sa tat tad vākyaṃ prāpte kāle śrutāyudhaḥ | sa tayā vīraghātinyā janārdanam atāḍayat |
قال سنجيا: ولكن حين حلّت اللحظة الحاسمة لم يعمل شروتايودها بتلك الوصية. بل إنه، وهو يقبض على تلك الهراوة القاتلة للأبطال، ضرب بها جناردانا (كريشنا). وتُبرز الحادثة أن تجاهل قيدٍ مُنِح من السماء في لهيب الحرب زلّةٌ أخلاقية تستدعي الهلاك، ولو كان المرء ذا بأسٍ عظيم.
