tau yamau pṛṣṭhato 'nv etāṃ rakṣantau puruṣarṣabhau | droṇāyābhimukhaṃ yāntaṃ dīpyamānam ivānalam ||
قال سنجيا: ولمّا رأى التوأمان—ناكولا وسَهَديفا، وهما من خيار الرجال—دْهريشْتاديومنا متّقدًا كالنار يتقدّم مواجهةً دْرونا، تبعاه من خلفه يحميانه.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights kṣatriya-dharma in practice: steadfast protection of an ally and disciplined advance toward a powerful opponent. It also reflects the ethical tension of war where duty and loyalty operate even against revered elders like Droṇa.
Dṛṣṭadyumna advances directly toward Droṇa, described as blazing like fire. Behind him, the twin brothers Nakula and Sahadeva follow closely, guarding his rear as protective support in the battle formation.
