Educational Q&A

Kṛṣṇa urges inner steadiness and rejects unworthy dejection: grief that weakens resolve is ethically and socially unfitting for a Kṣatriya facing a righteous duty. The verse frames composure and courage as part of dharma.

Sañjaya narrates that Kṛṣṇa observes Kaunteya (Arjuna) overcome by agitation and immediately addresses him, instructing him not to succumb to distress because such a state is not appropriate for him in the battlefield context.
