वासवी-शक्तेः प्रयोगः, घटोत्कच-वधोत्तर-शोकः, व्यासोपदेशश्च

अभ्यद्रवत्‌ ततो द्रोणो यदुवीरजिघांसया । सोमदत्तको युयुधानके बाणोंसे पीड़ित एवं अचेत हुआ देख द्रोणाचार्य यदुवीर सात्यकिका वध करनेकी इच्छासे उनकी ओर दौड़े

abhyadravat tato droṇo yaduvīra-jighāṃsayā | somadattakaḥ yuyudhānake bāṇaiḥ pīḍitaṃ evaṃ acetaṃ dṛṣṭvā droṇācāryaḥ yaduvīra-sātyakī-vadha-icchayā tasyāṃ diśi dhāvata |

قال سانجيا: ثم اندفع درونا إلى الأمام قاصدًا قتل بطل اليادو. ولما رأى بهوريشرَفَس (ابن سوماداتّا) قد أُصيب بسهام يويودهانا ووقع فاقدًا للوعي، اندفع دروناآچاريا—مدفوعًا برغبةٍ في صرع بطل اليادو ساتياكي—مهاجمًا نحوه. وتُبرز هذه الحادثة كيف أن ولاءاتٍ شخصيةً ونزعاتِ الثأر قد تطغى، في لهيب الحرب، على ضبط النفس فتوسّع دائرة العنف.
