The verse affirms that the stability of the cosmos and the continuation of dharmic practices (like japa and homa) depend upon divine grace. Ethical life is portrayed as possible when beings remain within their proper limits (svavartman) under the sustaining order upheld by the Lord.
Sanjaya addresses Hrishikesha (Krishna) with reverence, attributing the world’s orderly functioning—both of immovable and movable beings—to Krishna’s favor, and noting that this order enables people to pursue sacred and righteous rites such as recitation and fire-offerings.
