द्रोणेन केकय-चेदि-वीरवधः
Droṇa’s engagements with the Kekayas and Cedis
तावर्जुनो महाराज नवभिर्नतपर्वभि: । आजलचघान रणे क्रुद्धो मर्मज्ञो मर्मभेदिभि:,महाराज! मर्मको जाननेवाले अर्जुनने रणक्षेत्रमें कुपित होकर झुकी हुई गाँठवाले नौ मर्मभेदी बाणोंद्वारा उन दोनोंको चोट पहुँचायी
tāv arjuno mahārāja navabhir nataparvabhiḥ | ājaghāna raṇe kruddho marmajño marmabhedibhiḥ ||
قال سانجيا: أيها الملك، إن أرجونا، العارف بمواضع المَرمَة (النقاط القاتلة)، غضب في ساحة القتال فضربهما بتسعة سهامٍ خارقةٍ للدروع، ذات عُقَدٍ منحنية، قاصدًا بها مواضع الضعف ليكسرها.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how expertise (knowledge of vital points) can make violence extremely effective, and therefore ethically weighty. In the dharma-framework of war, skill must be governed by duty and restraint; when joined with anger, it intensifies harm and deepens the moral tension of righteous combat.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Arjuna, enraged in the midst of battle, strikes two opponents with nine specially described arrows, using his knowledge of vulnerable points to wound them decisively.
