Educational Q&A

The verse teaches that the Supreme Lord is both immanent in worldly processes (the natural and ordered creation) and transcendent as truth and liberation; therefore, victory and immortality are ultimately grounded in alignment with that divine reality rather than mere human power.

Bhishma, speaking in the Bhishma Parva context, offers a hymn-like praise to the Supreme Lord, attributing cosmic functions (creation and sustenance) and spiritual qualities (truth, liberation) to him, and acknowledging him as the ultimate giver of victory amid the war setting.
