इत्यासीत् तुमुल: शब्द: फाल्गुनस्य रथं प्रति । अर्जुनके रथके समीप “मार डालो, ले आओ, पकड़ लो, बींध डालो, टुकड़े-टुकड़े कर दो” इस प्रकार भयंकर शब्द गूँजने लगा
ityāsīt tumulaḥ śabdaḥ phālgunasya rathaṃ prati |
قال سانجيا: «وهكذا ارتفع صخبٌ عاصف موجَّهٌ إلى عربة فالغونا». وبقرب عربة أرجونا دوّت صيحاتُ المحاربين كالرعد: «اقتلوه! هاتوه إلى هنا! أمسكوه! اطعنوه! مزّقوه إربًا!»—كاشفةً عن الهياج والانهيار الأخلاقي الذي قد تطلقه الحرب حين يغلب الحقدُ على الكبح.
