Adhyāya 108 — Nimitta-darśana and Drona’s counsel amid Arjuna’s advance (निमित्तदर्शनं द्रोणोपदेशश्च)

तत्र कार्यतमं मन्ये भीष्मस्यैवाभिरक्षणम्‌ | गोप्ता होष महेष्वासो भीष्मो5स्माकं महाव्रत:,“अतः इस अवसरपर मैं भीष्मजीकी रक्षाको ही प्रधान कार्य समझता हूँ; क्योंकि ये महाव्रती महाधनुर्धर भीष्म हमलोगोंके रक्षक हैं

tatra kāryatamaṃ manye bhīṣmasyaivābhirakṣaṇam | goptā hoṣa maheṣvāso bhīṣmo 'smākaṃ mahāvrataḥ ||

«هناك أرى أن أَولى الواجبات وأعجلها هو صونُ بهيشما وحده؛ لأن بهيشما، صاحب النذر العظيم والرّامي الجبّار، هو حامي جانبنا.»
