Vivāha-dharma: Kanyā-pradāna, Śulka, and Pāṇigrahaṇa-niṣṭhā (अनुशासन पर्व, अध्याय ४४)
आकार गुरुपव्न्यास्तु स विज्ञाय भृगूद्वह: । निजग्राह महातेजा योगेन बलवत् प्रभो
ākāraṃ guru-patnyās tu sa vijñāya bhṛgūdvahaḥ | nijagrāha mahātejā yogena balavat prabho ||
قال بهيشما: لما رأى فيبولا—وهو أبرَزُ آلِ بهريغو—هيئةَ زوجة المُعلِّم وحركاتِها، أدرك ما يختلج في باطنها. لذلك كبحها ذلك الناسك ذو البهاء العظيم بقوة اليوغا، ولو بالقسر عند الحاجة، ليدرأ ما لا يليق ويحفظ الدharma.
भीष्म उवाच
One should read conduct and intentions carefully and act to prevent adharma, especially where the honor of the guru’s household is involved. Spiritual power and self-mastery are portrayed as tools for restraint and protection, not indulgence.
Bhīṣma narrates that a Bhṛgu-sage, noticing the gestures and demeanor of the preceptor’s wife and discerning her intent, used yogic power to restrain and control her—forcefully if necessary—so that misconduct would not proceed.
