Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ

Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony

नास्ति पुत्र पयो5रण्ये सुरभीगोत्रवर्जिते

nāsti putra payo 'raṇye surabhī-gotra-varjite |

قال فاسوديفا: «يا بُنيّ، لا لبنَ في هذه الغابة ألبتّة، لأنها خالية من سلالة سورَبهي (البقرة الإلهية)—فلا أبقار هنا. لذلك فنحنُ من الرُّهّاب والحكماء القاطنين بين الأنهار والكهوف والجبال ومواطن العبور المقدّسة على اختلافها، الثابتين على الزهد وترديد الأذكار المقدّسة، ملاذُنا الأعلى ليس إلا الربّ شانكَرا (شِيفا).»
