Praise of Ācāra as the Basis of Longevity, Fame, and Prosperity

नाध्यापयेत्‌ तथोच्छिष्टो नाधीयीत कदाचन । वाते च पूतिगन्धे च मनसापि न चिन्तयेत्‌

na adhyāpayet tathocchiṣṭo nādhīyīta kadācana | vāte ca pūtigandhe ca manasāpi na cintayet ||

قال بهيشما: من كان في حال نجاسةٍ طقسية بعد الأكل (وفي فمه بقايا الطعام) فلا ينبغي له أن يعلِّم النص المقدّس، ولا أن يشتغل قطّ بالتلاوة الذاتية (سفادهيايا). وحتى إذا هبّت ريحٌ كريهة، فلا ينبغي له أن يتأمّل التلاوة في ذهنه. إن هذا التعليم يرسّخ توقير دراسة الفيدا وتعليمها، ويجعل طهارة الجسد والبيئة شرطًا من شروط الانضباط في الدharma.
