The verse highlights straightforward self-disclosure and truthfulness even in a tense, adversarial setting. Ethical clarity—stating who one is without manipulation—becomes a marker of dharmic conduct amid suspicion and rivalry.
In Śukra’s narration of the Kaca episode, the Asuras see an unfamiliar person and interrogate him. Kaca answers directly, identifying himself by name and lineage as Bṛhaspati’s son.
