ययाति–देवयानी संवादः
Yayāti–Devayānī Dialogue and Śukra’s Consent
गृहीत्वा श्रमभारार्तों वटवृक्ष॑ं समाश्रित: । गावश्व सहिता: सर्वा वृक्षच्छायामुपाश्रिता:,उन्हें देखते ही देवयानीने पूछा--/आज आपने लौटनेमें विलम्ब क्यों किया?” इस प्रकार पूछनेपर कचने शुक्राचार्यकी कनन््यासे कहा--“भामिनि! मैं समिधा, कुश आदि और काष्ठका भार लेकर आ रहा था। रास्तेमें थकावट और भारसे पीड़ित हो एक वटवृक्षके नीचे ठहर गया। साथ ही सारी गौएँ भी उसी वृक्षकी छायामें आकर विश्राम करने लगीं
gṛhītvā śramabhārārto vaṭavṛkṣaṃ samāśritaḥ | gāvaśva-sahitāḥ sarvā vṛkṣacchāyām upāśritāḥ ||
قال شُكرا: «كنتُ أحمل حملاً ثقيلاً وقد أنهكني التعب، فلجأتُ إلى ظلِّ شجرة بانيان. وجاءت الأبقار كلّها، ومعها الخيل، فاستراحت في ظلّ تلك الشجرة.»
