Yayāti–Devayānī Dialogue and Śukra’s Consent
इत्युक्तमात्रे मां हत्वा पेषीकृत्वा तु दानवा: | दत्त्वा शालावृकेभ्यस्तु सुखं जग्मु:ः स््वमालयम्,“मेरे इतना कहते ही दानवोंने मुझे मार डाला और मेरे शरीरको चूर्ण करके कुत्ते- सियारोंको बाँट दिया। फिर वे सुखपूर्वक अपने घर चले गये
ity uktamātre māṃ hatvā peṣīkṛtvā tu dānavāḥ | dattvā śālāvṛkebhyas tu sukhaṃ jagmuḥ svam ālayam ||
قال شُكرا: «ما إن نطقتُ بتلك الكلمات حتى قتلني الدانَفَة. سحقوا جسدي حتى صار عجينًا ووزّعوه على الكلاب وبنات آوى. ثم عادوا إلى مساكنهم راضين مطمئنين.»
