खाण्डवदाहे देवविमुखता तथा मयदानवाभयदानम् | Khāṇḍava Burning: Devas Withdraw; Maya Granted Protection
सो5वमन्य तथास्माकमनादृत्य च केशवम् | प्रसहा हृतवानद्य सुभद्रां मृत्युमात्मन:,“उसने हमलोगोंका अपमान और केशवका अनादर करके आज बलपूर्वक सुभद्राका अपहरण किया है, जो उसके लिये अपनी मृत्युके समान है
so’vamanya tathāsmākam anādṛtya ca keśavam | prasahā hṛtavān adya subhadrāṃ mṛtyum ātmanaḥ ||
قال فايشَمبايانا: «لقد أهاننا وازدرى كيشافا، ثم إنه اليوم اختطف سوبهادرا قسرًا—وفعلٌ كهذا له كمن يستدعي الموت إلى نفسه.»
