Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dhārmic conduct in the presence of a revered authority: showing respect through circumambulation and standing humbly nearby. It models the ethical posture of a seeker—humility, restraint, and reverence toward the source of wisdom.

Brahmā (Hiraṇyagarbha) is seated on a supreme throne. Vyāsa (called Vāsaveya) circles him respectfully and then stands near the seat, indicating deference and readiness to receive instruction or convey a request.
