अनुक्रमणिकाध्यायः (Anukramaṇikā Adhyāya) — Invocation, Narrator Frame, and Textual Scope

त॑ दृष्टवा विस्मितो भूत्वा प्राउजलि: प्रणत: स्थित: । आसन कल्पयामास सर्वर्मुनिगणैर्वृत:,व्यासजी ब्रह्माजीको देखकर आश्चर्यवकित रह गये। उन्होंने हाथ जोड़कर प्रणाम किया और खड़े रहे। फिर सावधान होकर सब ऋषि-मुनियोंके साथ उन्होंने ब्रह्माजीके लिये आसनकी व्यवस्था की

taṁ dṛṣṭvā vismito bhūtvā prāñjaliḥ praṇataḥ sthitaḥ | āsanaṁ kalpayāmāsa sarvair munigaṇair vṛtaḥ ||

فلما رآه فياسا أُخذ بالدهشة. ضمّ كفّيه توقيرًا، فانحنى ووقف بأدب. ثم، وقد استجمع سكينته وانتباهه، وبينما يحيط به جمع الحكماء، هيّأ لبراهما مقعدًا—وهو تكريم يليق بأعظم ضيف وبأسمى سلطة روحية.
