अनुज्ञातो5थ कृष्णस्तु ब्रह्मणा परमेषछ्ठिना । निषसादासनाभ्याशे प्रीयमाण: शुचिस्मित:,परमेष्ठी ब्रह्माजीकी आज्ञासे वे उनके आसनके पास ही बैठ गये। उस समय व्यासजीके हृदयमें आनन्दका समुद्र उमड़ रहा था और मुखपर मन्द-मन्द पवित्र मुसकान लहरा रही थी
anujñāto ’tha kṛṣṇas tu brahmaṇā parameṣṭhinā | niṣasādāsanābhyāśe prīyamāṇaḥ śucismitaḥ ||
ثم إن كريشنا (فياسا)، بعد أن أذن له براهما، الربّ الأعلى (باراميشثين)، جلس قريبًا من مقعده. كان في باطنه غامرَ السرور، وعلى وجهه ارتسمت ابتسامة لطيفة طاهرة—علامةَ توقيرٍ واتزانٍ وانسجامٍ في الأدب بين يدي سلطةٍ جليلة.
