Sukta 8
तस्येदं वर्चस्तेजः प्राणमायुर्नि वेष्टयामीदमेनमधराञ्चं पादयामि
tásyedáṃ várcas téjaḥ prā́ṇam ā́yur ní veṣṭayāmi | idám enam adharā́ñcam pādayāmi ||
This lustre of his, this fiery might, his breath and length of days—these do I wrap and bind upon myself; and this man here I force to face downward, I tread him down beneath.
هذا بريقُه، وهذه قوّتُه الناريّة، ونَفَسُه وطولُ أيّامِه—كلُّ ذلك أُلَفِّفُه وأربطُه على نفسي؛ وهذا الرجلُ هاهنا أُكرِهُه أن يواجهَ إلى أسفل، وأطؤُه فأُذِلُّه تحتَ قدمي.
