Sukta 3
पितेव पुत्रानभि सं स्वजस्व नः शिवा नो वाता इव वान्तु भूमौ । यमोदनं पचतो देवते इह तं नस्तप उत सत्यं च वेत्तु
pitā́ iva putrā́n abhí sáṃ svajasva naḥ śivā́ no vātā́ iva vāntu bhū́mau | yamódanáṃ pácato deváte ihá táṃ nas tápa utá satyáṃ ca vettú ||
As a father his sons, so clasp us round in full embrace; may auspicious winds, as it were, blow for us upon the earth. O deity Yama, here, while we cook the rice-porridge, acknowledge for us that ardour and that truth.
كما يضمّ الأبُ أبناءه، كذلك احتضنّا احتضانًا تامًّا؛ ولتهبّ لنا على الأرض رياحٌ مُيمونةٌ كأنها كذلك. يا إله يَما، هنا، ونحن نطبخ عصيدة الأرزّ (أودانا)، اعرف لنا ذلك التوهّجَ وذلك الحقّ.
