Sukta 3

यद्यत् कृष्णः शकुन एह गत्वा त्सरन् विषक्तं बिल आससाद । यद् वा दास्या३र्द्रहस्ता समङ्क्त उलूखलं मुसलं शुम्भतापः

yádyat kr̥ṣṇáḥ śakuní eha gátvā tsáran víṣaktaṃ bílam āsasā́da | yád vā dāsyā̀ árdrahastā samaṅktá ulū́khalaṃ músalaṃ śumbhatāpaḥ ||

Whatsoever black portent-bird, coming hither, stealthily gliding, hath reached the clinging burrow; or if the slave-girl, with hands yet wet, hath smeared the mortar and the pestle—do ye, O heat-bright purifiers, make them clean.

أيًّا كان طائرُ الشؤمِ الأسودُ، إذ جاء إلى هنا وانساب خفيةً، فبلغ الجُحرَ الملتصقَ العالق؛ أو إن كانت الجاريةُ، ويداها ما تزالان رطبتين، قد لطّختِ الهاونَ والمدقَّ—فيا أيها المُطهِّرون المتلألئون بالحرارة، طهِّروها وطهِّروهما.
