उत्तरं राष्ट्रं प्रजयोत्तरावद् दिशामुदीची कृणवन्नो अग्रम्। पाङ्क्तं छन्दःपुरुषो बभूव विश्वैर्विश्वाङ्गैः सह सं भवेम
úttaraṃ rāṣṭráṃ prajā́yottarā́vad diśā́m udī́cī kṛṇavan no ágram | pā́ṅktaṃ chándaḥ púruṣo babhū́va víśvair viśvā́ṅgaiḥ sahá sáṃ bhavema ||
A northern realm, superior with progeny—may the northern quarter of the regions make for us the foremost place. The fivefold metre became the Person: with all, with all his limbs, together may we wholly come to be.
مملكةٌ شماليةٌ أسمى بالذرّية—لتجعل لنا الجهةُ الشماليةُ من الجهات المقامَ الأوّل. لقد صار الوزنُ الخماسيّ (pāṅkta chandas) هو الـPuruṣa: فمع الجميع، ومع جميع أعضائه، لِنَكُنْ معًا كيانًا كاملًا.
