Sukta 5
iyáṃ samíd pṛthivī́ dyáur dvitī́yo utā́ntárikṣaṃ samídhā pṛṇāti | brahmacārī́ samídhā mékhalayā śraméṇa lokā́ṃs tápasā piparti
This fuel is Earth; Heaven is the second; yea, with fuel he filleth also the Mid-air. The Brahmacārin, with fuel-stick, with girdle, with toil, with austerity, doth fill and sustain the worlds.
Rishi: Atharvanic tradition
Devata: Brahmacārin / Tapas as sustaining power; implicitly Agni via samidh
Chandas: Likely Triṣṭubh tendencies (two hemistichs with extended cadence)
