Sukta 4
námas te prā́ṇa prāṇaté námo astv apānaté | parācī́nāya te námaḥ pratīcī́nāya te námaḥ sárvasmai ta idáṃ námaḥ ||
Obeisance be to thee, O Prāṇa, to thee that breathest; obeisance—let it be—to Apāna. To thee turned outward, obeisance; to thee turned inward, obeisance: to all of thee, to thee is this obeisance.
Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (often transmitted under Atharvan/Angiras lineages for prāṇa hymns)
Devata: Prāṇa (with Apāna and directional currents as aspects)
Chandas: Mixed/Anuṣṭubh-like cadence (Atharvanic prose-verse tendencies in this section)
