Sukta 2
mā́ no góṣu púruṣeṣu mā́ gṛ́dho no ajā́viṣu | anyátró̱gra ví vartaya piyārūṇā́m prajā́m jahí
Prey not on us among our kine, nor among our men; be not thou greedy against us among goats and sheep. Elsewhere, O fierce one, turn thee away: smite thou the progeny of the Pi(y)ārūs.
Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (Aṅgiras/Atharvan line; hymn as transmitted in Śaunaka)
Devata: Apotropaic address to a hostile agent (rakṣas/disease/predator) and implicitly to protective power of the mantra
Chandas: Anuṣṭubh (predominant in AV protective charms)
{"primary_rasa":"raudra","secondary_rasa":"bhayankara","emotional_arc":"From protective refusal → escalation into fierce diversion → hostile strike-command.","listener_experience":"Heightened vigilance and assertive defense.","intensity":7}
