Sukta 5
devásya savitúr bhāgá sthá | apā́ṃ śukrám ā́po devī́r várcó asmā́su dhatta | prajā́pater vo dhā́mnā́smái lokā́ya sādaye
Ye are the portion of the god Savitṛ. O Waters, bright of essence, goddesses, set splendour within us. By Prajāpati’s ordinance—by your established might—I seat him firmly in this world.
Rishi: Atharvanic tradition (Anukramaṇī varies)
Devata: Āpas; Savitṛ as specified divine claimant; Prajāpati as authorizing power
Chandas: Atharvanic mixed/prose-like
