इत्य् आग्नेये महापुराणे यमगीता नामैकाशीत्यधिकत्रिशततमो ऽध्यायः अथ द्व्यशीत्यधिकत्रिशततमो ऽध्यायः आग्नेयपुराणमाहात्म्यं अग्निर् उवाच आग्नेयं ब्रह्मरूपन्ते पुराणं कथतं मया सप्रपञ्चं निष्प्रपञ्चं विद्याद्वयमयं महत्

ity āgneye mahāpurāṇe yamagītā nāmaikāśītyadhikatriśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ atha dvyaśītyadhikatriśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ āgneyapurāṇamāhātmyaṃ agnir uvāca āgneyaṃ brahmarūpante purāṇaṃ kathataṃ mayā saprapañcaṃ niṣprapañcaṃ vidyādvayamayaṃ mahat

هكذا ينتهي في «الأغني مهابورانا» الفصل الحادي والثمانون بعد الثلاثمائة المسمّى «ياما-غيتا». والآن يبدأ الفصل الثاني والثمانون بعد الثلاثمائة في «عظمة أغني بورانا». قال أغني: «لقد شرحتُ لكم أغنيَيا بورانا، وهو ذو طبيعة براهْمَن، واسع عظيم، جامعٌ لمعرفةٍ مزدوجة: تعليمٌ مع العالم المتجلّي (saprapañca)، وتعليمٌ متجاوزٌ لكل تجلٍّ (niṣprapañca).»
