FAQs

It teaches a practical mantra-prayoga: reciting a svastyayana (safe-passage) japa while traveling, and an Agni-related foe-destroying japa for subduing hostile forces.

Alongside theology, the Agni Purana preserves applied ritual technology—how, when, and for what purpose to deploy specific japas (travel-protection and enemy-destruction), reflecting its wide scope of practical disciplines.

The instruction frames protection and victory as dharmic outcomes of disciplined japa—seeking safe passage and removal of hostility through devotionally directed mantra recitation rather than mere force.
