Ayurvedic jvara-cikitsā: it prescribes light, processed grains/legumes—barley, green gram, lentil, chickpea, and horse-gram—optionally combined with kuṣṭha, as dietary support during fever.
It shows the Agni Purana functioning as a compendium beyond mythology by preserving practical Ayurvedic diet-therapy (pathya) and materia medica guidance for managing fever.
By following sāttvika, regulated diet during illness, one supports bodily purity and self-control (niyama), which traditional Dharma-Ayurveda views as conducive to clarity of mind and steadiness in worship and duty.
