FAQs

It prescribes remedial measures for difficult or abnormal childbirth: perform homa, do mantra-japa, and honor Brahmins/elders as a śānti-prayoga (pacificatory rite) alongside practical care.

It blends Ayurvedic-obstetric concern (prasūti-vaikṛtya) with ritual therapeutics (homa, japa, vipra-pūjā), showing how the Agni Purāṇa integrates medicine, dharma, and applied religious rites in a single instructional stream.

Homa and japa are presented as purificatory and obstacle-removing acts, while vipra-pūjā supports auspiciousness and merit (puṇya), aiming to pacify adverse influences believed to affect childbirth outcomes.
