FAQs

It teaches specific mantra-prayoga: the “svastina indra” recitation for removing all बाधा (obstacles/afflictions) and “iha gāvaḥ prajyāyadhvam” for increasing puṣṭi (nourishment/prosperity), especially connected with cattle and household welfare.

It exemplifies the Agni Purana’s practical cataloging of applied knowledge—here, concise ritual technology (mantra applications) for protection and prosperity—alongside its many other domains (temple rites, governance, medicine, poetics, and more).

Reciting auspicious “svasti” mantras is framed as a purificatory and protective act that wards off adversity, while prosperity-focused recitations aim at sustaining dharmic household life through nourishment, fertility, and well-being (puṣṭi).
