FAQs

It gives a nīti-śāstra classification of vīratva (heroism) into generosity, righteousness, and battle, and identifies utsāha (energetic resolve) as the operative causal factor for achieving them.

Beyond ritual and mythology, the Agni Purāṇa also systematizes practical human disciplines like ethics and statecraft; this verse functions like a concise doctrinal definition used in governance, personal conduct, and martial contexts.

It frames generosity and dharma as forms of true heroism, implying that sustained zeal in righteous action and giving generates merit (puṇya) and strengthens one’s capacity to act rightly even under conflict.
