FAQs

It catalogs major knowledge-systems and scriptural streams—Sāṅkhya, Yoga, Śaiva (Pāśupata), Vedic, Vaiṣṇava Pañcarātra, and mantra-vidyā (Gāyatrī)—as recognized authoritative paths/teachings.

By listing multiple darśanas and āgamic traditions side-by-side, it functions as a compact index of India’s major philosophical and sectarian curricula, reflecting the Agni Purāṇa’s survey-style compilation of diverse disciplines.

The verse implies that liberation-oriented understanding can be approached through multiple validated streams—philosophy, disciplined practice, Vedic authority, āgamas, and mantra—encouraging disciplined adherence to an authorized path for purification and spiritual attainment.
