Ayurvedic rasāyana practice: precise dose-based longevity formulations—one using a triturated ingredient rubbed with herbal juices and taken with ghee, and another using aśvagandhā measured as one pala combined with oil, ghee, and sugar.
It shows the Agni Purana functioning as a compendium beyond myth—preserving applied medical knowledge (Ayurveda), including dosage measures (guñjā, pala) and rasāyana recipes framed as longevity-promoting yogas.
Rasāyana is presented as life-supporting dharmic self-care: sustaining health and vitality to pursue duties, worship, and disciplined living, with longevity claims expressing the merit of preserving the body as an instrument of dharma.
