Vibhīṣaṇa’s Arrival and the Debate on Refuge
इत्युक्त्वापरुषंवाक्यंरावणंरावणानुजः ।आजगाममुहूर्तेनयत्ररामस्सलक्ष्मणः ।।6.17.1।।

Having thus spoken harsh words to Rāvaṇa, his younger brother Vibhīṣaṇa quickly went to the place where Rāma stood with Lakṣmaṇa.
Vibheeshana, having addressed Ravana in harsh language, reached Rama and Lakshmana in a short while.
Dharma is upheld by leaving the side of wrongdoing: Vibhīṣaṇa separates from Rāvaṇa after speaking plainly, and moves toward the righteous camp, showing that loyalty must not override truth and righteousness.
After rebuking Rāvaṇa with severe words, Vibhīṣaṇa departs Laṅkā’s leadership circle and promptly approaches Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa.
Moral courage and commitment to satya: Vibhīṣaṇa chooses principled action over comfort, kinship, and political safety.
