Vibhīṣaṇa’s Arrival and the Debate on Refuge
इत्युक्त्वापरुषंवाक्यंरावणंरावणानुजः ।आजगाममुहूर्तेनयत्ररामस्सलक्ष्मणः ।।6.17.1।।
ity uktvā paruṣaṃ vākyaṃ rāvaṇaṃ rāvaṇānujaḥ |
ājagāma muhūrtena yatra rāmaḥ sa-lakṣmaṇaḥ ||
Having thus spoken harshly to Rāvaṇa, Vibhīṣaṇa soon came to where Rāma was with Lakṣmaṇa.
Vibheeshana, having addressed Ravana in harsh language, reached Rama and Lakshmana in a short while.
The verse conveys that dharma is enacted through decisive steps: once truth is recognized, one should move toward it without delay.
Vibhīṣaṇa departs from Rāvaṇa after rebuke and reaches Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa.
Clarity of judgment and resolve (niścaya).
