रामदर्शनार्थं दारानयनम्
The Queens Summoned; Rama’s Leave-Taking and Dasaratha’s Collapse
स सूतो राममादाय लक्ष्मणं मैथिलीं तदा।जगामाभिमुखस्तूर्णं सकाशं जगतीपतेः।।।।
sa sūto rāmam ādāya lakṣmaṇaṃ maithilīṃ tadā | jagāmābhimukhas tūrṇaṃ sakāśaṃ jagatīpateḥ ||
Then the charioteer brought Rāma along with Lakṣmaṇa and Maithilī (Sītā), and without delay went forward to the presence of the lord of the world (the king).
Then the charioteer fetched Rama, Lakshmana and Sita and advanced towards the king without delay.
Faithful service and promptness in duty: Sumantra carries out the king’s command efficiently, enabling the proper meeting between father and son.
Sumantra escorts Rāma, Lakṣmaṇa, and Sītā to Daśaratha’s presence for an audience.
