Nārāyaṇa-kavaca — The Armor of Lord Nārāyaṇa
vidikṣu dikṣūrdhvam adhaḥ samantād antar bahir bhagavān nārasiṁhaḥ prahāpayaḻ loka-bhayaṁ svanena sva-tejasā grasta-samasta-tejāḥ
Prahlāda Mahārāja loudly chanted the holy name of Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva. May Lord Nṛsiṁhadeva, roaring for His devotee Prahlāda Mahārāja, protect us from all fear of dangers created by stalwart leaders in all directions through poison, weapons, water, fire, air and so on. May the Lord cover their influence by His own transcendental influence. May Nṛsiṁhadeva protect us in all directions and in all corners, above, below, within and without.
This verse prays to Lord Nṛsiṁha as all-pervading—within and without—who drives away worldly fear by His roar and subdues all opposing powers by His own divine effulgence.
The kavaca prayer invokes Nṛsiṁha’s all-pervasiveness to establish complete spiritual protection—no place remains outside His shelter, whether external danger or inner anxiety.
Remembering and praying to the Lord as all-present helps reduce fear and insecurity; it trains the mind to seek refuge in divine protection rather than panic before overwhelming circumstances.
