Kurukṣetra Pilgrimage: Sages Praise Kṛṣṇa; Vasudeva Inquires on Karma; Viṣṇu-yajña Performed
तद् वीक्ष्य तानुपव्रज्य वसुदेवो महायशा: । प्रणम्य चोपसङ्गृह्य बभाषेदं सुयन्त्रित: ॥ २८ ॥
tad vīkṣya tān upavrajya vasudevo mahā-yaśāḥ praṇamya copasaṅgṛhya babhāṣedaṁ su-yantritaḥ
Seeing that they were about to leave, the renowned Vasudeva approached the sages. After bowing down to them and touching their feet, he spoke to them with carefully chosen words.
This verse shows Vasudeva approaching, offering obeisances, and embracing—modeling humility, affection, and proper etiquette even amid intense emotions.
Because he recognized them with reverence and affection; he first honored them formally with pranāma and then expressed familial love through embrace.
Even in emotionally charged reunions or conflicts, one can act with dignity—pause, offer respect, and speak thoughtfully rather than impulsively.
