Kṛṣṇa Kills Dantavakra; Balarāma’s Pilgrimage and the Slaying of Romaharṣaṇa
गदयाभिहतोऽप्याजौ न चचाल यदूद्वह: । कृष्णोऽपि तमहन् गुर्व्या कौमोदक्या स्तनान्तरे ॥ ८ ॥
gadayābhihato ’py ājau na cacāla yadūdvahaḥ kṛṣṇo ’pi tam ahan gurvyā kaumodakyā stanāntare
Although hit by Dantavakra’s club, Lord Kṛṣṇa, the deliverer of the Yadus, did not budge from His place on the battlefield. Rather, with His massive Kaumodakī club the Lord struck Dantavakra in the middle of his chest.
It describes that even when struck by a mace, Kṛṣṇa did not flinch, and then He powerfully counterattacked with His Kaumodakī mace.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī narrates this verse while describing Kṛṣṇa’s battle events in Canto 10, Chapter 78.
It highlights steadiness and courage under attack—devotees can cultivate inner composure by remembering the Lord’s protection and acting without panic.
