परस्तस्मात्तु भावोऽन्योऽव्यक्तोऽव्यक्तात्सनातनः । यः स सर्वेषु भूतेषु नश्यत्सु न विनश्यति ॥ ८.२० ॥
paras tasmāt tu bhāvo ’nyo ’vyakto ’vyaktāt sanātanaḥ | yaḥ sa sarveṣu bhūteṣu naśyatsu na vinaśyati || 8.20 ||
But beyond that Unmanifest there is another Reality—Unmanifest and eternal—which does not perish even when all beings perish.
परन्तु उस (अव्यक्त) से परे एक अन्य भाव (तत्त्व) है, जो अव्यक्त और सनातन है; सब भूतों के नष्ट होने पर भी वह नष्ट नहीं होता।
But beyond that there is another mode of being—unmanifest, eternal—beyond the unmanifest; it does not perish when all beings perish.
यहाँ ‘अन्योऽव्यक्तः’ को कुछ परंपराएँ ‘परब्रह्म/परमधाम’ (transcendent absolute) के रूप में, और कुछ ‘निर्गुण ब्रह्म’ के रूप में पहचानती हैं। ‘अव्यक्तात्’ (beyond the unmanifest) से संकेत मिलता है कि कारण-प्रकृति से भी परे कोई तत्त्व माना गया है।
