ādau jaladhi-mūta-bherī-nirjhara-sambhavaḥ | madhye mardala-śabdābho ghaṇṭā-kāhalajas tathā || ante tu kiṅkiṇī-vaṃśa-vīṇā-bhramara-niḥsvanaḥ | iti nānāvidhā nādāḥ śrūyante sūkṣma-sūkṣmataḥ ||35||

In the beginning (the sound is) like that arising from the ocean, clouds, kettle-drums, and waterfalls; in the middle it resembles the sound of a mṛdaṅga; likewise it is produced like bells and trumpets. At the end it is the resonance of anklets, flute, vīṇā, and the humming of bees. Thus, diverse nādas are heard, increasingly subtle.

Brahman (approached through nāda as a meditative support)Mahavakya: Indirect: prepares the mind for mahāvākya-vicāra by cultivating ekāgratā and subtle discrimination (viveka) between the changing nāda-phenomena and the unchanging witness-consciousness.AtharvaChandas: Prose/Anuṣṭubh-like yoga-upaniṣad style (variable across recensions)
