śrībhagavānuvāca | evametatkariṣyāmi bhavatāmarisaṃjayam | śrīmatāṃ tejaso vṛddhiṃ kariṣyāmi sadāsurāḥ | katheyaṃ ca sadā khyātiṃ loke yāsyati cottamām
世尊曰:“如是,我当成就:赐汝等战胜诸敌。我将恒常增长贤贵者之光辉威德;此一神圣传说亦将于世间常得至上声名。”
Śrī Bhagavān (Hari/Viṣṇu, Janārdana)
Tirtha: Ayodhyā-kṣetra (with the emerging focus on Gupta-Hari in the immediate context)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Devas (and by extension dharma-kāṅkṣin pilgrims)
Scene: The Blessed Lord speaks a boon: victory over enemies, increase of splendor for the illustrious, and the eternal renown of the sacred account; the setting evokes a sanctified assembly in Ayodhyā’s sacred precinct.
When dharma is upheld, the Lord grants protection, victory over hostile forces, and lasting auspiciousness; sacred narratives also carry transformative power.
Ayodhyā is the implied locus of the kathā’s power and renown within this Māhātmya.
An implied practice is kathā-śravaṇa and kathā-kīrtana—hearing and spreading the sacred account that gains “highest renown.”
