धूतपापा ययौ लोकमुमायाः कृतस्वागता । अंशेन च तटे तस्मिन्संभूता वटयक्षिणी
dhūtapāpā yayau lokamumāyāḥ kṛtasvāgatā | aṃśena ca taṭe tasminsaṃbhūtā vaṭayakṣiṇī
罪垢既净,她往生于乌玛(Umā)之界,蒙慈恩迎受;而就在那岸边,瓦塔夜叉女(Vaṭayakṣiṇī)以女神之一分而显现。
Sūta (Lomaharṣaṇa) to the sages (deduced)
Tirtha: Vaṭayakṣiṇī-taṭa (bank sanctified by Vaṭayakṣiṇī)
Type: ghat
Scene: After a life of observances, the purified devotee is welcomed into Umā’s realm; simultaneously, on the earthly bank, a radiant Vaṭayakṣiṇī appears beneath/near a banyan (vaṭa), marking the spot as sacred.
Sincere observance and worship purify wrongdoing and culminate in divine acceptance and higher spiritual destiny.
The same sacred bank where Vaṭayakṣiṇī manifests is presented as a power-place of Devī’s presence.
The verse summarizes the fruit of sustained niyamas and worship—purification and attainment—rather than adding a new rite.
