sūta uvāca | sādhu pṛṣṭaṃ mahāprājñā bhavadbhirlokaviśrutaiḥ | ato'haṃ saṃpravakṣyāmi śivapūjāphalaṃ mahat
苏多说道:问得好啊,诸位大智仙人,名闻世间。因此我现在将宣说礼敬湿婆(Śiva)所获的广大功德之果。
Sūta
Listener: Ṛṣis
Scene: Sūta raises his hand in teaching gesture (vyākhyā-mudrā), sages attentive; the atmosphere shifts from request to formal instruction; a manuscript and rosary visible.
Dharma is preserved through inquiry and authoritative teaching; Śiva worship is presented as a path of great fruit.
No tīrtha is named; this is a transition into doctrinal instruction on Śiva worship.
A general exposition of Śiva-pūjā-phala is promised; specific prescriptions follow in subsequent verses.
